Discovering Your Unique Biochemistry
Thyroid Health
A comprehensive assessment is checking not only TSH but your free T3 and free T4 as well as reverse T3 and thyroid antibodies.
Metabolic Health
Insulin is a hormone that helps regulate blood glucose levels. A healthy insulin level is associated with better metabolic health. A suboptimal insulin level is often associated with weight gain, insulin resistance, diabetes, increased body weight, and/or a difficult time losing weight.
Hemoglobin A1c is a biomarker that tells you about your average blood sugar level during the three months. Maintaining an HbA1c level in the normal range is associated with better health and better control of body weight.
Unlike the traditional lipid test, we check the size, weight, and LDL particle numbers. Maintaining a normal range is associated with better control of body weight.
Inflammatory Markers
If you don’t address the inflammation, sustaining weight loss is very challenging. We assess hs-CRP and homocysteine to get a good assessment of inflammation in the body.
Dutch Testing
This is a comprehensive assessment of your sex hormones, including estrogens, progesterone, DHEA, testosterone, and a measure of your metabolites or hormone byproducts.
The DUTCH also checks Cortisol and Cortisone, a hormone secreted by the adrenal glands. An abnormal cortisol level can have an adverse effect on appetite, body weight, and so much more. This is great for people who complain of fatigue, low libido, weight loss resistance, PCOS, irregular cycles, fibroids, endometriosis, and so much more.
Stool Testing
When applicable, we offer testing via a stool sample to check for inflammation, imbalance in good and bad bacteria, signs for malabsorption and maldigestion, as well as opportunistic infections like parasites, yeast, and bacteria. This is great for patients with constipation, diarrhea, acid reflux, bloating, burping, abdominal pain, and fatigue.
KBMO Food Sensitivity Testing
Checks for sensitivities for 132 foods! With this beneficial information, we can assess whether or not you have enhanced intestinal permeability or “leaky gut” and work on an individualized program to help minimize the foods that your body perceives as a threat and maximize your body's need to prioritize a room for healing.
